Model 103FF Outside Screw and Yoke (OS&Y) gate valve with resilient wedge, The stem is pre-grooved for installation of a supervisory switch. The interior & exterior have an electrostatically applied fusion - bonded epoxy coating of 0.2 - 0.5 mm as per AWWA C-550. Rapidrop 103FF OS&Y gate valve is used in a fire protection sprinkler system, the stem and stem nut are located outside of the body of the valve which makes it easy to see if the valve is open or closed. Fire Alarm Valve
     
  Alarm Valve is a double seated clapper check valve with grooved seat design, which ensures positive water flow for alarm operation and is designed for installation in wet pipe sprinkler system. External bypass prevents false alarm under all supply pressure condition. In the event of variable pressure condition,false alarm are prevented with the provision of retard chamber, thus the design allows for installation under both variable and constant supply pressure condition. Operation of one or more automatic fire sprinklers, the water flows into the sprinkler system and the alarm valve opens, allowing continuous flow of water into the system and transmittal of alarm, both electrical and mechanical.
 
 
Pressure Reducing Valve
     
  Description
Fireguard Pressure reducing valve maintains a preset downstream pressure, regardless of upstream pressure or flow fluctuation. Grooved Butterfly Valve

Zone Control Valve
     
  Zone Control Valve is switch that is part of the water supply / fire protection system in a building, which includes landing valves, water storage tanks and sprinkler systems. Its main purpose it to regulate water flow in the designated “zones” or areas and in some buildings, by floors / levels, thus named zone control valve.
Zone Control Valve is a system designed to separate the area in case of maintenance and to get the indication of fire zone on a combination of Butterfly valve, Flow Switch, Pressure Gauge and Test & Drain Valves

Designed and engineered for reliability and built with all the quality these Zone Control Valves are used to create and control individual zones or isolate equipment in a hydronic heating system. Zone valves as used in home hydronic systems are usually electrically powered. In large commercial installations, vacuum or compressed air may be used instead. In either case, the motor is usually connected to the water valve via a mechanical coupling.
 
For electrical zone valves, the motor is often a small shaded-pole synchronous motor combined with a rotary switch that can disconnect the motor at either of the two stopping points (“valve open” or “valve closed”). In this way, applying power to the “open valve” terminal causes the motor to run until the valve is open while applying power at the “close valve” terminal causes the motor to run until the valve is closed. The motor is commonly powered from the same 24 volt ac power source that is used for the rest of the control system. This allows the zone valves to be directly controlled by low-voltage thermostats and wired with low-voltage wiring. This style of valves requires the use of an SPDT thermostat or relay.
 
Zone valves can also be constructed using wax motors and a spring-return mechanism. In this case, the valve is normally closed by the force of the spring but can be opened by the force of the wax motor. Removal of electrical power re-closes the valve. This style of zone valve operates with a perfectly ordinary SPST thermostat.
 
For vacuum- or pneumatically operated zone valves, the thermostat usually switches the pressure or vacuum on or off, causing a spring-loaded rubber diaphragm to move and actuate the valve. Unlike the electrical zone valves, these valves automatically return to the default position without the application of any power, and the default position is usually “open”, allowing heat to flow.

 
Landing Valve
     
  Landing valves are suitable for installation on wet risers in buildings for fire fighting purposes, permanently charged with water from a pressurized supply. They are Globe valves that are installed on hydrants, a branch and hose is connected to a coupling on it.

There is two kind of water supply to fire department one is called hydrant which is there on the ground and other is called landing valve which should be there in all the floor where we cant install hydrant. Its a simple valve. The fire department people connect there water hose to that valve to get water to extinguish fire. The normal pressure should be 65 psi.
 
A pressure reducing valve is used in hose reel system to reduce the pressure at the inlet of the hose reel to the nominal working pressure. When using a landing valve the  operator must take extreme caution.
 
The relevant part should be opened slightly until the whole run of hose fills with water and then slowly opened further to increase the pressure of discharge to suit the circumstance.

 
Flow Switch
     
  A flow switch is a device that monitors the flow of air, steam or liquid. It sends a "trip signal" to a different device in the system, such as a pump. The flow switch can indicate to the pump to shut off or to turn on. Some of the general uses are for pump protection, for cooling-circuit protection and alarms for too high or too low flow rates.

Uses
An example of what flow switches can be used for is given by McDonnell & Miller, suppliers of liquid and air flow switches. Liquid flow switches can be used for air conditioning, hot water space heating systems, pump systems, water cooled equipment, blending or additive systems, liquid transfer systems, fire sprinkler systems, water treatment systems, swimming pool chlorination and industrial laser coolant systems. Air flow switches can be used for clean room filter systems, duct type heating, exhaust ventilating, air supply systems and air treatment systems.

Flow Definition
Flow means the physical movement (velocity) of liquid, gas or steam in a pipe that causes a switch to actuate. No-flow means a decrease in velocity or, sometimes, complete stoppage, allowing the switch to revert to the original position.

 
Temper Switch
     
  A tamper switch is a mechanical and electrical device connected to a fire protection valve that signals a warning if the valve partially or fully closes. Regardless of the type of tamper switch, they all function similarly. The tamper switch features an actuating unit, usually a lever or cable with a resting position. When the valve closes, the actuating unit breaks an electrical circuit which triggers a signal. Think of it like a light bulb: when the light switch is on, a circuit is formed and the bulb shines brightly. When the switch is turned off – or, in the case of a fire protection tamper switch, the valve closes – the circuit is broken. For tamper switches, this broken circuit creates a signal. In most jurisdictions, this does not mean the fire alarm goes off (though check with your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to make sure of your local rules) but rather the tamper switch sends the signal to a fire control panel which creates a record of the incident.
 
Sprinkler System
     
  A fire sprinkler system is an active fire protection measure, consisting of a water supply system, providing adequate pressure and flowrate to a water distribution piping system, onto which fire sprinklers are connected. Although historically only used in factories and large commercial buildings, systems for homes and small buildings are now available at a cost-effective price.
 
Fire sprinkler systems are extensively used worldwide, with millions of sprinkler heads fitted each year. In buildings completely protected by fire sprinkler systems, over 99% of fires were controlled by fire sprinklers alone.

Each closed-head sprinkler is held closed by either a heat-sensitive glass bulb (see below) or a two-part metal link held together with fusible alloy such as Wood’s metal and other alloys with similar compositions. The glass bulb or link applies pressure to a pipe cap which acts as a plug which prevents water from flowing until the ambient temperature around the sprinkler reaches the design activation temperature of the individual sprinkler.
 
 
Because each sprinkler activates independently when the predetermined heat level is reached, the number of sprinklers that operate is limited to only those near the fire, thereby maximizing the available water pressure over the point of fire origin.  The bulb breaks as a result of the thermal expansion of the liquid inside the bulb.
 
 
The time it takes before a bulb breaks is dependent on the temperature. Below the design temperature, it does not break, and above the design temperature it breaks, taking less time to break as temperature increases above the design threshold. The response time is expressed as a response time index (RTI), which typically has values between 35 and 250 m½s½, where a low value indicates a fast response.
